Learn more about Stitching Hope and how you can be part of it
Stitching Hope is a nonprofit initiative that connects senior living centers and homeless shelters through crochet and kindness. Volunteers crochet blankets and other items to bring comfort and community support.
Anyone who is passionate about making a difference! Whether you know how to crochet or want to learn, you’re welcome to join.
Volunteers typically crochet blankets, scarves, hats, and other essentials that bring warmth and comfort to people in need.
We partner with senior centers where residents crochet items themselves or collaborate with younger volunteers. This fosters intergenerational bonds and creates a sense of purpose.
Chapter leaders work with local shelters to deliver handmade items. Our goal is to ensure each donation goes directly to individuals who need them most.
We host workshops to teach new volunteers crochet, organize drives to collect yarn donations, and build community events where people can come together for a cause.
You can apply directly through our Start a Chapter form on our homepage. We’ll review your application and guide you through the process.
Chapter leaders should be motivated, organized, and committed to fostering community connections. No prior experience is required — we’ll provide training and resources.
Leaders coordinate volunteers, connect with senior centers and shelters, organize donation drives, and ensure items reach those in need.
No — while some volunteers donate their own yarn and supplies, Stitching Hope provides resources and support to help chapters get started.
Absolutely! Many of our chapters are student-led. It’s a great way to earn leadership experience and give back to your community.
Our crocheted blankets, scarves, and other creations are donated to local homeless shelters and shared with seniors in living centers.
We provide warmth and comfort through handmade items while building bridges across generations and communities through acts of kindness.
